“From the Ashes”

This piece was written with intentions that were inspired by the teachings of Carl Jung. The following text was adapted from a video on Jung's teachings, written by Eternalised. The video link can be found below.

"The sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being" - Carl Jung

Wholeness can only be achieved through a union of opposites. Through the exploration of our shadow & our unconscious mind.

There is no light without shadow & no psychic wholeness without imperfection. To round itself out; life calls not for perfection, but completeness & for this the thorn in the flesh is needed.

The figure of the wounded healer is one who is at home in the darkness of suffering & finds light & recovery. A sort of creative depression which is the cry of the soul for growth. We should not try to cure it, because it cures us. We should experience what it means, what it has to teach & what its purpose is. We stop fearing the darkness once we know that the phoenix in us will rise from the ashes.
